There are dozens of examples that could be given to prove just how wrong you are for picking on this dev. Just because an art style is similar doesn't mean it's a blatant rip off. Seeing as Atlus tends to drop the ball on localization and porting, this will probably be as close as we get to ever seeing it's style of game on PC.
It most certainly is an homage, and one that is very welcome to many fans of that particular game. And this dev is also correct in everything they've stated so far. This dev seems super nice and willing to engage their community. The game is jam packed with secrets, dungeons, bosses, NPC dialogue events, and areas that you cant reach without getting a certain item (just like everyones favorite, Legend While 3D Dot Game Heroes is not particularly innovative, it certainly makes its intentions clear and delivers on what it promises.
